Description
MF (male/female) cylindrical rubber anti-vibration mounts: a rubber cylinder with a threaded stud on one side and a threaded hole on the other. They isolate the machine from its base, absorb vibration and noise and cushion shocks; the stud screws into the machine or the base, and the screw goes into the hole on the other side. Available in 17 sizes, with M4, M6, M8, M10, M12 threads.
- TypeMF (male/female)
- Diametersfrom 15 to 75 mm
- ThreadsM4 · M6 · M8 · M10 · M12
- Dimensions17
Features
- Rubber vulcanised to the metal parts: a single piece, with no glued joints to come apart
- Reduces vibration transmitted to floors, structures and electrical panels
- Lowers noise and protects the machine from shocks
- Quick mounting with standard screws or nuts
Typical applications
Operating conditions
| Load | Works best in compression, with the weight spread over all mounts |
|---|---|
| Shear and tension | Only permitted to a limited extent: under tension the rubber can come away |
| Environment | Dry; rubber does not tolerate oils, solvents, ozone or direct sunlight |
| Temperature | Environment: avoid contact with hot parts of the machine |
Advantages
- Simple and inexpensive
- Absorbs vibration and noise well
- Mounts with standard fasteners
Limitations
- Limited elastic travel
- Not suitable for tensile loads
- Rubber ages with oils, ozone and UV rays
How to read the size
In the "Dimensions" menu you will find the diameter × height of the rubber cylinder (e.g. 20x20 = Ø 20 mm, 20 mm high); in the "Thread" menu, the thread and its length (e.g. M6x6 = M6 thread, 6 mm long).
Technician's tipDivide the weight of the machine by the number of mounting points and choose a mount suited to that load; use the same model at every point, otherwise the machine tilts and vibrates more.
