SelectPA6
Natural nylon, POLYAMIDE 6, is an engineering plastic suitable for many uses such as bushings, flanges, slide guides and much more. It is FDA certified and can therefore come into contact with food; easy to machine, it is regarded as a universal product. The maximum operating temperature is about 90°C, with short peaks up to 110°C. Available in natural and black.
PA6+MOS2
PA6+MOS2 nylon is a PA6 engineering plastic with added molybdenum disulphide, a solid lubricant. Dark grey in colour, this type of nylon is not for food use. It is used wherever a low coefficient of friction is required, such as bushings, slides and so on.
POM-C
Acetal resin, POM-C, is an engineering plastic with a high specific gravity. It machines excellently, is FDA certified (the white version) and is therefore ideal for the food industry. It is particularly suited to making gears, flanges and bushings.
Available in white or black
Its particularly tough molecular structure makes it a strong product.
Operating temperatures are about 100°C, with peaks of 110°C
PTFE
Teflon, or PTFE, is an FDA-certified engineering plastic. Very soft, white and easy to machine, it is used as an anti-friction material. Much more expensive than other plastics, its main feature is its resistance to high temperatures, up to 260°C.
POLIZENE
Polizene (polyethylene), PE, is a versatile engineering plastic. Easy to machine, fairly soft, light and inexpensive, it is the most widely used plastic.
Its main features are a low coefficient of friction and high abrasion resistance, which is why it is used for chain guides, sliding surfaces, bushings and much more.
Available in the main colours green, white and black, and also in blue, yellow and red. There are also variants such as antistatic black and glass-fibre reinforced.
The maximum operating temperature is 90°C.
