Description
Double-row self-aligning ball bearings, series 2200 (FAG). It is the wide series of double-row self-aligning ball bearings, whose spherical outer ring raceway lets the shaft tilt without straining the bearing. This page lists 22 codes, with bores from 10 to 50 mm: choose the code from the menu above.
- TypeDouble-row self-aligning ball bearings
- Series2200
- Bore dfrom 10 to 50 mm
- Outer diameter Dfrom 30 to 90 mm
- Codes22
- BrandFAG
Features
- The spherical outer ring raceway lets the shaft tilt a few degrees without straining the bearing
- Ideal for long shafts that flex or housings that are hard to align
- Low friction, cool running
- Wide series: larger balls than the narrow 1200 series, also available sealed (2RS) where shown in the code
Typical applications
Operating conditions
| Loads | Medium radial; light axial |
|---|---|
| Speed | Medium to high |
| Misalignment | Tolerated: that is their purpose |
| Lubrication | Grease or oil |
| Temperature | Usually up to about +120 °C; with seals about +100 °C |
Advantages
- They compensate for misalignment and shaft deflection
- Easier mounting on welded frames or distant housings
- Low friction
Limitations
- Limited axial load
- Less load capacity than a spherical roller bearing
How to read the code
| 2RS | rubber seals on both sides: protection against dust and splashes, lubricated for life |

Available codes
The d × D × B dimensions (bore, outer diameter, width) of each code appear in the "Sizes" menu; variants with a suffix (2RS, ZZ, C3…) are listed in the series menu.
Technician's tipIf you mount the shaft on two distant supports or on a welded frame, a self-aligning bearing absorbs the misalignment that would kill a deep groove ball bearing.
Temperatures and speeds are general guidelines for standard steel bearings: for special conditions ask us for the manufacturer's data.
