Description
Double-row spherical roller bearings, series 22200 (FAG). It is the series of double-row spherical roller bearings with barrel rollers: the sturdiest self-aligning bearings, suited to heavy radial loads, shocks and shafts that flex. This page lists 12 codes, with bores from 25 to 50 mm: choose the code from the menu above.
- TypeDouble-row spherical roller bearings
- Series22200
- Bore dfrom 25 to 50 mm
- Outer diameter Dfrom 52 to 90 mm
- Codes12
- BrandFAG
Features
- Two rows of barrel rollers on a spherical raceway: high radial load capacity, plus axial in both directions
- Self-aligning: they compensate for misalignment and shaft deflection
- Robust against shocks and vibration
- Cylindrical bore; FAG E1 design with increased load capacity
Typical applications
Operating conditions
| Loads | Heavy radial, axial in both directions, shocks |
|---|---|
| Speed | Medium |
| Misalignment | Tolerated |
| Lubrication | Grease or oil, with periodic relubrication |
| Temperature | Usually up to about +120 °C |
Advantages
- The bearing for heavy loads and shocks
- Compensates for misalignment
- Long life in the toughest conditions
Limitations
- Lower limiting speed than ball bearings
- Larger size and higher cost
- Higher friction: runs hotter at high speeds
How to read the code
| C3 | increased internal radial clearance: for tight fits or high temperatures (typical of electric motors) |
|---|---|
| E1 | reinforced FAG design with increased load capacity |
Available codes
The d × D × B dimensions (bore, outer diameter, width) of each code appear in the "Sizes" menu; variants with a suffix (2RS, ZZ, C3…) are listed in the series menu.
Technician's tipOn vibrating machines, relubricate regularly and check the housing temperature: a sudden rise is the first sign of wear.
Temperatures and speeds are general guidelines for standard steel bearings: for special conditions ask us for the manufacturer's data.
