Typical applications
Operating conditions
| Loads | Medium radial, light axial |
|---|---|
| Speed | Medium |
| Temperature | Usually -20 to +100 °C |
| Lubrication | Can be relubricated via the grease nipple |
| Environment | Workshops, outdoors, dusty environments (with protective covers where needed) |
Advantages
- Sturdy and relubricatable: long life even in harsh environments
- Quick mounting, no machining of the shaft
- Standard format: interchangeable with units from other brands
Limitations
- Set screw locking does not cope well with frequent reversals and heavy vibration
- Heavier than the sheet steel or aluminium versions
Technician's tipMount the unit, align the shaft and only then tighten the set screws, alternating between them: this way the bearing runs free of stress. Relubricate little and often, until a thin film of clean grease appears at the seals.
