Description
Solid rod in black POM-C acetal resin, to be turned or milled into the finished part. It is the material of choice when the size of the part must not change: it absorbs about 0.2 % moisture against 2-3 % for polyamides, and it is rigid, slides well and is stable.

The material
POM-C machines with an excellent finish, holds tight tolerances even in damp environments and has a low coefficient of friction. Compared with nylon it is more rigid but less tough: under a sharp blow it tends to break rather than deform.
Oversize diameters: the actual diameter of the rods is slightly larger than the nominal one, leaving material for turning to size.

Advantages

Limitations
- Less tough than PA6 under impact
- Not resistant to strong acids
- Sensitive to UV unless stabilised

Diameters from 20 to 100 mm (9 sizes), in 500 mm or 1000 mm bars.
Technician's tipIt is the benchmark choice for parts that must stay accurate: tight tolerances, damp environments, dimensions that must not shift. If, on the other hand, the component takes knocks, PA6 copes better.
